File Jackets

September 27, 2017 by Nancy Nemitz Leave a Comment

File jackets should be used instead of file folders when you are transporting files or have papers and bulkier items that need to stay together. For example, home improvement projects often have brochures, invoices, and samples related to a particular project. It’s helpful to use a file jacket in this case. They can be purchased in various widths depending on the project. The jacket fits in a file cabinet drawer which makes it convenient once the project is complete.

I recently did a lot of work around my house and I used one file jacket for each project. I write on the outside of the jacket project details and conversations I’ve had with an installer. This eliminates lots of Post-it notes all over file folders. I also recommend file jackets designed for projects
